The Brothers' Marinade

This recipe was passed along to me by my brothers who are quite the chefs, especially when it comes to beef--pot roasts, steaks, prime rib. They know their meat. We use this marinade on steaks and chicken. Lends itself to fajitas and kebabs especially well.

1 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. olive oil
2-3 T. honey
juice of one lime
1 tsp. cumin
1-2 cloves garlic, crushed

In a medium sized bowl, add soy sauce then slowly add olive oil, whisking constantly to emulsify. Whisk in remaining ingredients. We place our meat in a Ziploc bag, pour marinade over the meat and try to get as much air as you can out of the bag before sealing. Place bag in a large bowl in the fridge and turn once, halfway through. Marinade 1-4 hours. Grill meat. Yum.
